so how many american bucks (on average) would it cost you to stay a week in beijing china?
Mid-range, expect to pay under 200CNY for a double, 150CNY for a single, per night. I usually stay in a Home Inn location when I am in doubt, as that chain usually has pretty decent, clean and well located hotels all over China. Alternatively, you can rent a serviced apartment for a little more (240CNY per night) which can usually accommodate 2 to 4 people, with separate kitchen, bathroom, washing machine, etc. I stayed at the Hepingmen Apartments last August and I was extremely satisfied. The only problem is to explain taxi drivers how to get there, even though the apartment complex is centrally located within the "downtown" area.
